My Artist Statement
My art style is a bit all over the place. My style changes depending on what I am making. When I draw people, it cartoonish but, I try to make it realistic. When I make anything else, it tends to be more abstract. The thing that influences my artwork the most is music. When I listen to it, I can imagine people and places and what would be happening at that moment. The music artists that influence my work are Tyler, the creator, Steve Lacy and Tobi Lou. I use pencils mainly and am getting into using my drawing tablet more. My style is not colourful. The reason for this is because I don’t use colouring pencils when drawing. I do not think my style is where I want it to be for me to feel comfortable with my art. I have learned how to shade when painting and how to use Photoshop when drawing. When adding shade in with paintings, I discovered that I should add my darkest colour and mix it with my lightest colour to get the shading I need. My favourite piece is my digital one. The reason why this one is my favourite is because of the colours used in the piece. I would change how the beads on her hair look and make them smaller. When making It, I was surprised by how it turned out. I thought that the Upset one would be my favourite. Anger looked way better than the others pieces, in my opinion. My artwork is important to me and, I am still working on it. I hope to make a career out of my art. At some point in my life, I make art all day from home.
